• Advanced manufacturing cargo exported from Hamilton

  As part of a departure from the Port of Hamilton this week, Hamilton/Oakville-based manufacturer Hooper Engineered Vessels International (HEVI) loaded four process towers, measuring between 155ft and 250ft in length and weighing between 320,000lbs and 400,000lbs each, aboard a heavy-lift ship destined for a Mississippi power plant currently under construction.

  Manzanillo International Terminal (MIT) will launch an investment of around $270 million in its facilities and Panama International Terminal (PSA) is keen to expand its terminal. The increase in container cargo traffic that will be generated by Super-Post Panamax ships after expansion of the Panama Canal is completed is the main reason for investors seeing the Panamanian Pacific and Altantic as the best places to expand operations.

• Dutch group presents US$2.37 bn Espírito Santo port construction plan to Antaq - Brazil
